About Us
Mon Petit Chéri was founded by owner and baker Emily Rheingans in early 2014. After working in several restaurants and bakeries in the Twin Cities area honing in on her craft as well as spending a few months in France gaining experience, it seemed natural to want to branch out and do something on her own. That's when the idea of selling pastries at the Farmer's Market came to her. She lucked out and found a great spot at the Minneapolis Farmer's Market, and that's how she spent every weekend for 6 months, rain or shine. She was renting a commercial kitchen, baking the pastries at night and selling them herself by day. It was such a great experience and the customers were so receptive to the product, the year ended up being a great success. After the season was over she asked herself, "What now?". Wanting to grow the business, she landed a great lease in the Seward Neighborhood in Minneapolis and is now opening the bakery she has always dreamed of.
Here at MPC Bakery, we believe in building community through food. Some of the best experiences and memories in life often are shared over a meal, or a great cup of coffee and conversation. We hope that you find MPC Bakery to be a comfortable and inviting atmostphere to do just that. We also take pride in sourcing as much local produce and product as possible to ensure that we are doing our part to help sustain local ecosystems and businesses, as well as making sure we provide the best possible product for our customers. We are so excited to become a part of the Seward community, we hope that you love having us in the neighborhood!
